What We Do
Audio Editing & production
Podcasts start at $950 per episode
We are not accepting new editing and production projects at this time.
HOW IT WORKS
We’ll advise you on the best tech set-up for your space and budget, and coach you on best recording practices. After your recording session, you’ll send us the audio files, and we stitch them together, cleaning up the audio quality, editing for clarity, and scoring with music. You’ll receive a draft and either send a list of edits that you’d like made or approve it for publication.
To begin our work together, there is a start-up fee to cover meetings, file organization, tech set-up, and troubleshooting.
Please note: Editing audio is a slow and painstaking process. It usually takes 3-4 times the length of the original audio, depending on its quality and the number of speakers. For example, a one-hour interview with two speakers could take 3+ hours to edit. Shows with lots of clips, music, or sound design take longer.
Consulting
Whether your podcast is just an idea, in its fifth season, or somewhere in between, it’s always good to get some unbiased, straightforward feedback. Together, we’ll talk with you about your successes, frustrations, and goals. Then, we’ll provide recommendations on how to get started, build or grow a community of listeners, push through a creative block, and improve your podcast or radio show.
Pricing depends on the size of your staff and overall budget. Please include this information with your inquiry.
If you want to interview someone in the Kansas City area, but you live elsewhere in the world, you can pay me to go sit next to them with my recording equipment-- a Zoom H5 recorder and an RE-50 microphone. I’ll record clean audio and room tone for you and send the files promptly. I’ve done this work for the likes of Gimlet, 99% Invisible, Latino USA, and WGBH.
